Thank you

I would just like to say a massive massive thanks to Curt Smith of Tears For Fears, for retweeting my cover of ‘Everybody Wants To Rule The World’ to his thousands of Twitter followers, huge honour and also resulted in a few sales of my E.P, so thank you Curt

My first London gig

My first London gig and what a way to kickstart it at none other than The Wheelbarrow, a well established, unassuming, music orientated venue on Camden High Street. In a city that’s not renowned for it’s overly friendly/warming nature, this was stark contrast to the venue! I felt at ease straight away and forgot my feelings of ‘this city is way to big for me’. It I quite a daunting experience to play an unfamiliar city but to play an unfamiliar city that just feels way too big for a girl straight out of the countryside is something else. In fact, it was probably the most comfortable I’ve been on stage. I did, however, forget my setlist at one point and wanted my mum….you can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl. Great gig. I will be returning to the big smoke…very soon in fact, watch this space!

Unbound Live!

It was an honour to be asked to play at this event in Wincester alongside comedian Katy Brand and Tamsin Day Lewis. Unbound Live! is a great concept showcasing new books and half-written books to audiences, in the hope they will capture their imaginations and they will take the time to pledge in order to fast- track the books release or indeed publishing. It is getting increasingly difficult to publish books that aren’t celebrity autobiography, so this is a challenging new concept which looks set to turn that on it’s head. It was an enjoyable gig, a working singer/songwriter, accompanying a working author – a good recipe to showcase the challenges we face in our own field. Thank you Unbound Live

New song demos

Here is a set of new demo songs that will hopefully make it onto a new EP very soon. Enjoy

Songs and connections

I read an article the other day that said you have to play a new song to a live crowd approximately seven times until it is firmly in your body and your heart. I like this. I think it is true because you can be so passionate about a song you’ve written but playing it to a live audience is just totally different. I always write hoping that whoever is listening will be able to connect in some way emotionally with my songs. If you’ve ever been to one of my gigs, you will know that I like to create a bit of an atmosphere.

Merry Christmas!

Hope everyone had a really lovely Christmas. My last gig of the year was an Acoustic special at the Railway, Winchester. An unplugged affair. Was a great night of music to round of my year very well and also raised money for the Railway photographer. This year has been truly amazing what with my first E.P, support slots for great artists, radio airplay and being noticed by bbc introducing, the support has been never-ending, so, thank you. I have written a lot of new material towards the end of this year and look forward to recording again early in 2013 so you can hear it. Please keep checking on here for new gig dates and updates on my music and also follow me on Twitter at:

Ben Howard – live

What can I say…this guy is such a huge inspiration to me and to see him live last night was absolutely incredible. i have never had so many goosebumps throughout an entire gig before. It was simply stunning. ‘Black Flies’ is my favourite track on the album and it certainly did not disappoint, the progression and build thoughout the song just takes you to a different place. Amazing. I felt so submersed in his music.
Ben Howard – genius!

bbc introducing

To even have the words ‘bbc introducing’ and my name in the same sentence is an absolute honour, so getting a call from a dj from bbc introducing to say they were featuring my tracks was a total shock and huge thing for me and my muisc. Thank you so much
